Scholarships for College Students
Colorado Press Association Scholarship
College journalism students who complete a 10 week internship at a newspaper that is a member of the Colorado Press Association are invited to apply for a $2,500 scholarship. Up to six scholarships will be awarded to students who complete an internship during the Summer of 2010. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 17, 2010. Denver Country Club Scholarship
Scholarships only open to employees of the Denver Country Club. Applications are also available through the Human Resources office at the Denver Country Club. The 2010 application deadline was April 26th. Application information for 2011 scholarships will be posted here in March.
Helen M. McLoraine Nonprofit Employee Scholarship
Scholarships of varying amounts awarded to students who work at one of the 100 Denver area nonprofit organizations that were selected for the pilot program. Please see the PDF document of eligible organizations below and on the second page of the application form. Applicants can be full-time or part-time students taking undergraduate or graduate classes. Applicants who receive a scholarship this year will be encouraged to re-apply for a scholarship next year. The 2010 application postmark deadline was Monday, April 19th. Application and eligibility information for 2011 scholarships will be posted here in February.
Helen M. McLoraine Nonprofit Employee Scholarship - Eligible Organizations
Helen M. McLoraine Opportunity Scholarship
Scholarships for individuals who have had to face extraordinary or challenging circumstances, have actively taken steps to improve their lives, and are committed to advancing their education. This is a new program open to clients and former clients of the Challenged Athletes Foundation, the Emily K Foundation, Escuela de Guadelupe, Mount St. Vincent Home, On Our Own, PHAMALY, Urban Peak, Warren Village, the WINGS Foundation, and selected Boys and Girls Clubs. The 2010 application deadline was April 14th. Application and eligibility information for 2011 scholarships will be posted here in February.
Reisher Family Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to Colorado residents who attend Metropolitan State College, the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and the University of Colorado at Denver. Sophomores or transferring juniors who do not have sufficient funding to otherwise complete their degrees are eligible to apply. Students must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and show promise of making a future contribution to the community through service, leadership, work, or unusual experiences. Recipients are provided funding that covers their unmet need for up to three years assuming the student continues to remain in good academic standing. Applications can be obtained from the financial aid offices of participating schools.
Winifred R. Reynolds Educational Scholarship
Scholarship of varying amounts awarded to students pursuing a graduate degree in Early Childhood education, Child Development, or an equivalent field at Colorado State University, the University of Colorado at Denver, the University of Denver, or the University of Northern Colorado. Applicants must have financial need and have earned at least a 3.5 G.P.A. for any graduate level work that they have completed. The 2010 application deadline was April 26th.
