The Denver Foundation Arts and Culture TA Grantees Supported by Kresge Foundation!!!

Arts and culture organizations function at varying levels in any economy. In good economic times, we frequently encounter nonprofit organizations with weaknesses in their business management skills. In a recession, these issues are magnified. Even strong organizations are now encountering challenges that even the most astute planner could not have anticipated. As a result, the majority of Denver-based arts and culture organizations are feeling significant strains. The Denver Foundation has been able to support a minimum of 16 Arts and Culture organizations - made possible by the support from the Kresge Foundation!

An Examination of Strategic Nonprofit Restructuring: A Guide to Restructuring Types, Organizational Assessment, Identification of Partners, Funding Sources and Implementation

While examining the growth of mergers and restructuring in the U.S. nonprofit sector in the beginning of the 21st century, this paper presents nonprofit leaders with organizational assessment tools for determining the appropriateness of collaboration for their organizations. It offers a comprehensive analysis of available research on the topic through review of the different types of and popular reasons for realignment, the common challenges, the funding opportunities and how consultants can help facilitate the process. Specific questions are outlined to guide nonprofit leaders through the first steps of determining their organizations‟ readiness, establishing the type(s) of restructuring that may be best-suited for their organizations and assessing compatibility with potential partners.

Welcome and Overview of the Denver Shared Spaces Project

The Denver Shared Space Project is a collaboration between the Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships, Urban Land Conservancy, and Piton Foundation. The Denver Shared Space Project works to support nonprofit organizations in creating multi-tenant nonprofit centers, where nonprofits office together and share back-office functions in an effort to maximize resources and work more efficiently.
