In preparation for the 2026 November midterm elections, The Denver Foundation has granted 14 organizations a total of $209,600 through the Civic Fabric Fund to educate and activate voters. These organizations are hosting community events, sharing voter resources, and using data to understand what’s working and ways to more effectively reach new voters and communities with low voter turnout.
The Civic Fabric Fund is supported by generous donors, and The Fund for Denver, the permanent endowment our community has built since our founding in 1925.
About the grantees and their work
The 14 awarded organizations are working in the seven Metro Denver counties, with some expanding their efforts into Mesa County, Pueblo County, and statewide.
Colorado Asian Culture and Education Network (CACEN) is providing culturally responsive voter education resources about local and state ballot issues impacting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
Colorado Civic Engagement Roundtable (CCER) is providing infrastructure and capacity coaching to partners working to increase voter engagement.
Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition is coordinating community events and providing voter resources for justice-involved communities.
Colorado Fiscal Institute is providing voting resources that use plain language to explain each ballot measure, making information more accessible and engaging.
Common Cause – Colorado is providing resources across the state to educate communities on their voting rights.
Community Resource Center is training and coaching direct-service nonprofits to incorporate voter engagement efforts into their work.
Latina Initiative Colorado is using digital voter resources to reach 18 to 45-year-olds and encouraging friends and families to create voting circles to share reminders, resources, and encouragement before Election Day.
League of Women Voters of Denver is educating young voters, hosting candidate forums, and ensuring voter education materials are available in Spanish.
Metropolitan State University of Denver: Empowering Voices and Voters: the Civic Ambassadors Initiative is creating an ambassador program, classroom-based activities, debate parties and year-round education to increase civic engagement for first-generation, transfer, adult and military students.
New Era Colorado Foundation is providing resources and engaging 18 to 34-year-olds in conversations on issues important to them.
Open Answer is a project of The Fund for a Healthier Colorado, which is canvassing to increase voter engagement in West Denver.
ProgressNow Colorado Education is creating a customizable website that provides relevant issues and ballot information based on where the user lives.
Soul 2 Soul Sisters is creating a voter guide with information on ballot issues and how they impact economic stability, health, and the lives of Black communities.
The Colorado Leadership Consortium is coordinating candidate forums and events focused on youth education.
