Chief Impact Officer, Dace West, has been recognized as a 2024 Colorado Titan 100. The Titan 100 program recognizes Colorado’s Top 100 CEOs & C-level executives. They are the area’s most accomplished business leaders in their industry using criteria that include demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and passion. Dace West is a titan in her field. Over the course of her career, she’s built up organizations, helping them to grow and thrive. West has a history of taking small organizations and moving them from start-up organizations to more established organizations with greater impact. She knows what is needed to help build the infrastructure needed to make organizations become sustainable and thrive.
Dace West has long been a leader in the Denver community, ascending the ranks in various roles and leading multiple organizations to the next level, including in her current role at The Denver Foundation.
West joined The Denver Foundation in 2017 as the vice president of community impact. She was brought into the foundation to advance its nonprofit-facing work and lead its community-facing programming. West worked to revamp the grantmaking process to ensure that its initiatives were centered on racial equity and the most impactful in the community.
Dace is extremely proud of the historic contributions she made to The Denver Foundation last year, leading her team to record-breaking numbers. In 2021, the foundation raised $300 million in assets under her leadership. This figure was 33% higher than the year before and the highest amount raised in a single year in the history of the organization.
In addition to her leadership, Dace’s nominators emphasize her ability to get things done, from her work developing the foundation’s new strategic framework to her efforts to simplify application and reporting requirements for nonprofits.
Dace’s efforts in the foundation’s grantmaking have ensured that grant recipients receive the most flexible support possible to do their work. Throughout her career, she has shown a commitment to working locally, and her knowledge of her community is both deep and far-reaching.
