Reed Penington Family Trust Scholarship Fund

Supporting students in their educational pursuits

The Reed Penington Family Trust Scholarship was established to benefit those students who, through no fault of their own, are unable to complete one or more of their final two years of schooling because of lack of funds.

Eligibility

Junior or senior undergraduate students who:

  • Are Colorado residents
  • Are enrolled full-time as a degree-seeking candidate at a university or college located in Colorado
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Demonstrate financial need through the completion of either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA)

Selection

Recipients will be selected based on their academics, persistence in their educational pursuits, and ability to graduate within the next two academic years.

Additional information

Recipients will receive a one-time scholarship award ranging between $2,000 and $5,000 depending on their financial need. Awards can be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and additional cost of attendance expenses.

Renewal is not automatic for this award; however, previous recipients are encouraged to re-apply for an additional year through the competitive application process. All scholarships will be paid directly to a recipient’s school and must be used for the upcoming academic year. Award disbursement is contingent upon the outside scholarship policies of a recipient’s college or university.
