The Colorado Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Circle, awarded a total of $60,000 in grants to 17 organizations.
The Colorado AAPI Circle launched in 2023 to elevate the many Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities by increasing resources, lifting voices, and growing our civic engagement.
The circle connects individuals who donate their money to a pooled fund. The circle members decide together which nonprofit organizations or community projects to support. Through the process, they build strong connections and increase their engagement in the community.

In the Colorado AAPI Circle’s first year, it partnered with Colorado Health Institute (CHI) and started a community-centered demographic study focused on the Colorado AANHPI communities most in need. This led to The Colorado Lotus Project, a first-of-its-kind statewide look at the strengths and barriers facing Colorado’s Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
This year’s grantmaking is a continuation of the learning that began with the Colorado Lotus Project.
