Critical Needs Fund

Nonprofit Organizations

The Denver Foundation’s Critical Needs Fund can be activated to meet essential community needs outside of the normal course of our grantmaking. We activate the fund to mobilize flexible, responsive resources during times of critical need.

The Denver Foundation is committed to helping our community navigate the COVID-19 crisis. Between March and December 2020, the Foundation deployed $2.3 million through our Critical Needs Fund to 79 organizations that serve the basic needs of communities in Metro Denver and across Colorado. As our community continues to navigate the COVID-19 crisis and begins to transition into a period of recovery, our team of experts will continue to tap into our very deep roots in the community to identify high-impact initiatives, collaborations, and organizations that serve priority populations.

The Critical Needs Fund is built by gifts from donors and fundholders, who have made gifts from $100 to $1 million. You can make a gift online. If you would like to learn more or need assistance making your gift, please contact the Impact Team at help@denverfoundation.org or call 303.300.1790.

The Fund supports organizations that align with our mission, values, and objectives but are not typically supported through The Denver Foundation’s core grantmaking.

The Denver Foundation is always interested in good work happening in the community and welcomes information from organizations about their efforts. However, the Critical Needs Fund is not currently open for applications.
